Highlights |
|
The play was long and the athletes were getting
fatigued toward the end but all played to the
best of their abilities. Michael Romo was a last
minute substitute for another player who was unable
to attend. He had no opportunity to practice with
the team before the event but well sharing both
center and wing positions with Travis and help
his team to win the Bronze.
Brent Warren is an athlete who represents the
best of sportsmanship. He is recovering from an
illness that left him visually and physically
impaired. Over the last two years he has progressed
from being in a wheelchair to walking with a support
cane. He still has difficulty with some motor
planning skills and transitioning from the floor
to standing to throw the ball was not easy but
he played as well as the rest of his team, blocking
and throwing well to help his team in capturing
the Silver medal.

Highlights |
The Gold Medal game ended in a tie and play continued
into overtime. The winning goal scored in the second
minute of overtime play. Although the Cheetahs placed
third they should be very proud of their sportsmanship.
Justin has a hearing impairment, Craig has autism,
Ryan has a closed head injury from a car accident
several years ago and Devin has limited mobility.
They worked well as a team and encouraged eash other
to play to the best of their abilities and supported
each other in the best spirit of sportsmanship. |
