Rock Climbing
LOCATION: Friday, February 27, 2009 - AZ on the Rocks Indoor Climbing, Inc. (16447 N. 91st Street, Suite 105, Scottsdale).
ENTRY FEE & TIME: $40. Choose one time slot please - 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm OR
5:45 pm – 8:15 pm. Check in 30 minutes prior to start time. Awards: 9:45 pm.
ENTRY DEADLINE: Early entry deadline (postmarked on or before) February 14, 2009.
Late entry deadline up to and on the day of event, accepted with Commissioners
approval; based on availability. Registration is NOT taken on the Grand Canyon State Games Entry

NEW THIS YEAR: All competitors will be eligible to compete in a “Team Climb” Comp and Speed
Bouldering Comp. “Team Climb” requires two climbers and is a timed event. It will be run during the
normal competition. Speed bouldering will be run from 8:30-9:30pm. Please indicate if you are
interested in participating in these when you register. Contact AZ On The Rocks for more information.
DIVISIONS & EVENT FORMAT: Male/Female Beginner (up to V1), Male/Female Intermediate
(up to V4), Male/Female Advanced (up to V7) and Male/Female Open (V7 and up). This is a
Redpoint Bouldering competition. Competitors choose one of the two starting times and the
category they want to compete in. Maximum of 50 competitors in each time slot, for a total of
100 competitors. If one time slot is full, competitor can only climb in the available time slot,
spots will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. Winners will be determined by top three
scores in each category from the entire day (not each time slot).
* All climbers must complete both a Grand Canyon State Games waiver and an AZ on the Rocks waiver to
compete. All minors (under the age of 18), must have their parent complete the minor waiver prior to climbing.
