ARIZONA STATE PICKLEBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
LOCATION: Thursday February 21 thru Sunday February 24, 2013 - All play at Sun City Marinette Recreation Center, 9860 W. Union Hills Drive, Sun City, AZ
ENTRY FEES: $35 Registration fee, plus $5 per event.
ENTRY DEADLINE: Early entry deadline (online or form received) Monday February 4, 2013. After that date - Add $15 Late Fee. Late entry deadline (online or form received) February 13, 2013. Registration fees and forms must be received by February 13, 2013. Any entry after February 13th accepted only with Commissioners’ approval.
Registration is not taken on the Grand Canyon State Games entry form, the State Games Website, or in the Grand Canyon State Games Office. Register online via the website at www.pickleballtournaments.com or use the blank Pickleball entry form available on the website.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Thur. Feb 21 Men’s and Women’s Doubles (by age groups)
Fri. Feb 22 Mixed Doubles (by age groups)
Sat. Feb 23 Men’s and Women’s Doubles (by skill groups)
Sun. Feb 24 Mixed Doubles (by skill groups)
AGE GROUPS: Youth (13-14, 15-16, 17-18): age is determined by the older age of the two youth partners. Adult (19+, 35+, 50+, 55+): age is determined by the younger age of the two partners. If a team is composed of a youth (18 & under) and adult (19 or over), they will play in the adult 19+ group.
SKILL GROUPS: Based on USAPA skill groups: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0. The team’s skill level is determined by the higher skill level of the two partners. Please visit www.usapa.org for definitions.
RULES: Current USAPA rules will govern play. Please visit www.gcsgpickleball.org for additional rules and information.
FORMAT OF PLAY: Double Elimination. If there are fewer than 4 entries in a group, groups may be combined. Age groups with 14 or more entries may be divided in separate groups based on player skill levels and recommendations from the seeding committee. Skill groups will not be divided.

This sport is “NOT” part of the Grand Canyon State Summer Games. Entry materials for the other Summer Games sports will be available online at the Grand Canyon State Games website at www.gcsg.org statewide beginning in mid -April 2013.
