Mountain Bike

 

PHOENIX MOUNTAIN BIKE EVENT: Saturday, January 26, 2008- Mountain Bike Race (MTN). Registration & Number pick-up starts at 7am, race starts at 8am. RAIN or SHINE!

LOCATION: MTN- White Tank Mountain Regional Park. Take I-10 west of Phoenix to the 303 – north to Dunlap. Then west to park. Race is at far north end of park. Sonoran Trail Loop. Note: There is a $5 cash entrance fee (payable on race day) to the park.

COURSES: Experts will race 3 laps; the sport division will race 2 laps. All Beginners will race 2 laps except 14 &U, they will race 1 lap. Race loop is fast and fun for everyone from beginners to expert. Technical loop will not be used. Beginners will not race on north end Hike-a-bike. Sport & Expert will use north end Hike-a-bike. Hope to see you there Remember Helmets are mandatory.

14U - 1 Lap 18U - 2 Laps 18U - 3 Laps
15-18 - 2 Laps 19-29 - 2 Laps 19-29 - 3 Laps
19-29 - 2 Laps 30-39 - 2 Laps 30-39 - 3 Laps
30-39 - 2 Laps 40-49 - 2 Laps 40-49 - 3 Laps
40-49 - 2 Laps 50+ - 2 Laps 50+ - 3 Laps
50+ - 2 Laps    

*Experts Start 1st and then 3 minute intervals. Some Categories may be combined.

ON SITE CHECK IN: 7am at site- Race starts at 8am (3 min between mtn. groups)

ENTRY FEES: $20- adult, $15- Jr., $10- each additional event ($5 late fee applies on site)

ENTRY DEADLINE: Early entry deadline (postmarked on or before) Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008. After that date - add $5 late fee. Registration taken up to and on-site prior to start of race.

RULES: Ride your age as of race day. ANSI or SNELL approved helmets must be worn by riders while on their bikes at these events AT ALL TIMES. Eye protection required at mtn bike event. BIKES ARE SUBJECT TO INSPECTION. Races will be run rain or shine. Mtn. Bike “Water/Feed Zone” just past start line. Medals ceremony in each age group at site after results are final.

DIVISIONS: You do not need to be a licensed rider to compete in the Grand Canyon State Games. Please ride your category if you are licensed. Age divisions are open to all riders. Ride your age as of race day.

This sport is “Not” part of the International Summer Games. Entry materials for the International Summer Games will be available at all Fulton Homes Communities, APS locations, Sleep America stores, and Keller Williams Realty locations statewide beginning in April 2008.
