Karate
LOCATION: Saturday February 23, 2013 – ASU Phoenix Prep, 735 E. Fillmore, Phoenix, AZ 85006. * Event Starts at 10 am.
ENTRY FEE: $30 for up to 3 events. Additional events are $5 extra excluding team events. $30 entry fee for Team Events.
ENTRY DEADLINE: Early entry deadline (postmarked on or before) Saturday February 9, 2013. Onsite entries will be accepted until 10 am.
DIVISIONS: Divisions may be adjusted to serve all competitors: children, youth, adults, male, female, Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced competitors. Kata, Kumite & Weapons divisions in multiple age groups offered.
KATA/KUMITE/KOBUDO: All competitors must wear a clean white Karate uniform (GI).
All competitors must have their own kumite (free-sparring) equipment, which includes a mouthpiece, a set of hand pads, and males must wear a protective supportive cup.
RULES: This Traditional Japanese/Okinawan Karate tournament will be using the 3-point (Shobu Sanbon) Rules. *NOTE: Black Belts please bring your whistle and must attend judges meeting.

This sport “IS” part of the Grand Canyon State Summer Games. Entry materials for the other Summer Games sports will be available online at the Grand Canyon State Games website at www.gcsg.org statewide beginning in mid - April 2013.
