Ice Hockey
For the 12th consecutive year, The Sonoran Youth Ice Hockey League will partner with
the Grand Canyon State Games in its season ending league championship event.
Slated for March 24-27 2011, the tournament will crown 7 champions in 4 age brackets
with the finals being played at Polar Ice Chandler on March 27, 2011. The competition
is an invitation only tournament limited to all Travel "A" & "B" teams from among those
currently playing in the Sonoran Hockey League. The event is the culmination of a
season that begins in October and includes teams from all over Arizona as well as teams
from Las Vegas, New Mexico, and Mexico City. Both boys and girls ranging in age from 7
to 15 will compete to see who will be the next state champion. Registration is not taken on the Grand
Canyon State Games Online registration page, the State Games entry form or in the State Games
office.
