Desert Challenge

 

Desert Challenge Games - Disabled Sports, not just wheelchair.

LOCATION: ASU and Webster Gym - Friday, April 25, 2008 through Sunday, April 27, 2008. Please see the host Web site for additional information.

ENTRY FEES: $30.00/athlete and coach.

ENTRY DEADLINE: Early registration (postmarked on or before) Friday April 11, 2008. After that date add $20 late fee. Late entry deadline is April 18th, 2008. Any registration received after April 10th will be accepted only with Games Directors approval.

NOTE: Registration is not taken on the State Games Entry form, on the State Games website or taken at the State Games office.

DIVISIONS: Participation is open to male and female athletes with permanent physical disabilities ages 6 years and older that are interested in competitive athletics.

EVENTS: Instructional and informational clinics available (see schedule on web site). Competitions include Air Rifle and Pistol Shoot, Aquatics, Archery, Boccie Ball, Field, Track, Weightlifting and Wheelchair Basketball (3v3).

SANCTIONED: The event is sanctioned by Wheelchair Sports USA. Athletes can qualify for competition in the National Junior Disabled Sports Championships, the National Veterans Wheelchair Games and Adult National Disability Games by meeting the qualifying standards in their respective events.

This sport is “Not” part of the International Summer Games. Entry materials for the International Summer Games will be available at all Fulton Homes Communities, APS locations, Sleep America stores, and Keller Williams Realty locations statewide beginning in April 2008.
