Character Challenge 5K Run/Walk
LOCATION: Az Character Education Foundation Event - Friday, April 25, 2008 through Sunday, April 27, 2008 -
Wesley Bolin Plaza (Downtown Phoenix).
IN ADDITION: ALL Competitors qualify for the State Games of the West Championships
in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 24-27, 2008. Eight thousand athletes from
thirteen Western States, competing for State pride & medals, are expected at venues
such as the US Air Force Academy & the US Olympic Training Center.
ENTRY FEES: Adults $18 now through April 11 / $20 April 18 / $23 on Race Day. Kids 17 & under $10
through March 1st / $15 on Race Day. Parking may be an additional fee. Please Car-pool. Entry fees payable
to: Character Challenge 5K.
EVENT: 3rd Annual Character Challenge 5K Run/Walk (Individuals). Proceeds will benefit the Arizona
Character Education Foundation.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
• 7:30 a.m. - YMCA warm up.
• 8:00 a.m. - 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk: This non-competitive event is for every ability level. A digital clock will
display times at the finish line.
• 8:15 a.m. - 5K Run: This 5K course is fast and flat. The course will have split times each mile plus two aid
stations. Individual overall champions and top three awards will be presented in 5 year age groups.
• 8:30a.m. - 5K Walk : Strollers and baby joggers are welcome. A digital clock will display times at the finish
line. This event is non-competitive.
• 9:30 a.m. - Raffle.
AGE DIVISIONS:
11 and under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64,
65-69, 70-74, 75+
REGISTRATION: Individuals can register instantly by visiting www.azcharacteredfoundation.org (small
service fee will apply). Online registration ends Wednesday, Feb. 27th at 6 p.m. Registration is NOT taken on
the Grand Canyon State Games Entry form, Website or at the Games Office. **All entrants will receive a high quality commemorative t-shirt, post-race refreshments and enjoy great entertainment and raffle. Free Rock Wall and
Bounce House for kids!
