Basketball in the 2008 Winter Games will be divided into 2 separate weekends - March 14-16, 2008 and March 28-30, 2008.

TOURNAMENT BENEFITS:
• Affordable $300 price with a minimum 3 game guarantee
• Quality officials provided by Don Logan
• Entry fee discounts for multiple team entries
• Divisions played at one location whenever possible
•T-shirts to all participants & medals to top 3 finishers in each division
•The top finisher (gold medal winner) in the Winter Games in each division will be
awarded free entry into that sport if offered in the International Summer Games.

**ALL participants qualify for the State Games of West, a 13 state regional competition, held in Colorado Springs, CO. on July 24-27, 2008 ***All medal winners (1st, 2nd & 3rd) qualify for the State Games of America, a National multi-sport competition July 30-Aug 2, 2009 also in Colorado Springs CO.

LOCATIONS: For March 14-16, 2008, play will be held at Camelback HS, Grand Canyon University, Phoenix Prep and Sunnyslope HS. For March 28-30, 2008, play will be held at Grand Canyon University, Camelback HS, Sunnyslope HS & Phoenix Prep.

IN ADDITION: The State Games of the West Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 24-27, 2008 will feature eight thousand athletes from thirteen Western States, competing for State pride & medals, are expected at venues such as the US Air Force Academy & the US Olympic Training Center.

ENTRY FEES: $300/per team. All teams guaranteed 3 games. “If Game” for all Double elimination brackets, multiple team entry discounts available by contacting the State Games Office at 480-517-9700.

ENTRY DEADLINE FOR PLAY ON MARCH 14-16, 2008: Early registration (postmarked on or before) Saturday, March 1, 2008. After that date add $20 late fee. Late entry deadline March 8th, (must be received in the Games Office). *Any entry after March 8th, will be accepted only with the Commissioners approval and will be based on space availability – add $20 late fee.

12 & under/6th grade-born on or after Sept. 1, 1995 Open  
13 & under/7th grade-born on or after Sept. 1, 1994

13 & under

 

5-ON-5 DIVISIONS: Played March 28-30, 2008
Adult (18 & up)
Men’s A (Competitive), Men’s B (Recreational), Men’s 40+, Women’s Competitive

 

WINTER RULES: FOR BOTH WEEKENDS
• Age limits for rosters as per AAU Rules: Boys ages determined as of 9/1; Girls as of 7/1.
• If less than 4 teams sign up in any division, other arrangements will be made.
• No player allowed to play on two teams in same division. Medals awarded to top three teams in each division. Each team is guaranteed at least three games.
• Each team must supply own jerseys with visible numbers on back.
• Officials provided by Don Logan.

This sport “IS” part of the International Summer Games. Entry materials for the International Summer Games will be available at all Fulton Homes Communities, APS locations, Sleep America stores, and Keller Williams Realty locations statewide beginning in April 2008.
