International Summer Games
Judo
LOCATION: Saturday May 22, 2010 - Phoenix Prep Academy, (7th Street and Filmore).
ENTRY FEES: $20 - Juniors (16 & under); $33 - Adults (17 & Older); $20 each
additional event for Juniors & Adults.
ENTRY DEADLINE: Registration taken on-site from 6 pm-8:30 pm Friday,
May 21, 2010. Entries also taken on-site from 7 am until 8:30 am on Saturday, May 22nd. For additional
registration questions, please contact the commissioner. Registration is NOT taken on the Grand
Canyon State Games Entry form, website or at the State Games Office. Some participants from
outside Arizona are welcome.
MEMBERSHIP-MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS FOR U.S. JUDO ORGANIZATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT
REGISTRATION.
REFEREE AND TABLE STAFF TRAINING:Thanks to those of you who come out and volunteer your time to run the Arizona Judo tournaments! Participating as part of the event staff is fun and rewarding and sometimes can add points to your next promotion.
REGISTRATION and WEIGH-INS: TOURNAMENTS STARTS: SATURDAY, MAY 22ND AT 10 AM FOR
MASTERS DIVISION, JUNIORS AND SENIORS FOLLOWING THEREAFTER. Phoenix Prep Academy on
Friday, May 21st from 6-8:30 pm. Entries and weigh-ins held on Saturday May 22nd, from 7 am until 8:30
am. COACH/REFEREE MEETING: SATURDAY MAY 22ND AT 9 AM. Registration is NOT taken on the
Grand Canyon State Games Entry Form, Website or at the State Games Office.
JUDO GIS: White Judo GIS ONLY.
DIVISIONS: All divisions are determined at time of weigh-ins. All divisions are subject to modification based on fairness and entries. Each skill, gender and age category will be separated into weight divisions, generally:light, middle and heavy. We will make every effort to follow Olympic weight divisions for senior male Black Belts. All decisions by the tournament director are final. Men and Women Novice competitors are defined as a player: who holds a rank of yonkyu or below; who have NOT won any advance divisions; who have no more than two years of Judo experience. Men and Women Brown Belts are defined as a player who holds a brown belt. Junior Novice competitors are defined as players: who hold a rank of yellow belt or below. All Juniors are players aged 16 yrs or younger on day of this tournament.

RULES:
All matches will be conducted using the current IJF Contest Rules with the following modifications:
1. No shime-waza (chokes) under 13 years old.
2. No shime-waza (chokes) in any junior novice division.
3. No kansetsu-waza (armlocks) in novice divisions.
4. No kansetsu-waza (armlocks) in divisions under 17 years old (Juniors).
5. No blue judo GIS.
6. Duration of matches is modified.
