NEW! 1st Arizona State Summer High School Championship The International Summer Games 2009’s an official qualifier for the 1st Annual ABCA-GCSG Arizona State Summer Boys and Girls High School Basketball Championship.


FORMAT: Top two finishers in the High School Varsity, JV, and Freshman Divisions for Boys and Girls which compete as and represent a specific High
School, and are coached by their regular winter season AIA High School coaches in the GCSG International Summer Games 2009 June 19-21, 2009.
They will qualify to participate in the Arizona Basketball Coaches Association- Grand Canyon State Arizona State Summer Boys and Girls High School
Basketball Championships, in Phoenix East Valley to be held June 29-July 2, 2009. More then 3 dozen other High School Summer Leagues, Team Camps and events will also serve as qualifiers for this event. Please contact Commissioner for a complete list.


GCSG LOCATIONS: June 19-21, 2009 - Phoenix Prep, Sunnyslope HS, North HS, Southwestern College and Carl Hayden HS.


TOURNAMENT BENEFITS:
• Affordable $325 price with a minimum 3 game guarantee
• Quality officials provided by Don Logan
• Entry fee discounts for multiple team entries
• Divisions played at one location whenever possible
• T-shirts to all participants & medals to top 3 finishers in each division.


ENTRY FEES & DEADLINE: $325/per team for 5-on-5. Early entry deadline (postmarked on or before) Saturday June 6, 2009. After that date - add $20 late fee. Late entry deadline (in the State Games Office) Saturday, June 13, 2009. Any entry after June 13th will be accepted only with Commissioners approval and based on space availability - add $20 late fee.

10 & under/4th grade-born after Sept. 1, 1998 10 & under/born after July 1, 1997
Co-Ed teams will be allowed to participate in the 8’s, 9’s, and 10’s Divisions
   
11 & under/5th grade-born on or after Sept. 1, 1997 11 & under/born after July 1, 1996
12 & under/6th grade-born on or after Sept. 1, 1996 12 & under/born after July 1, 1995
13 & under/7th grade-born on or after Sept. 1, 1995 13 & under/born after July 1, 1994
14 & under/8th grade-born on or after Sept. 1, 1994 14 & under/born after July 1, 1993

*Boys Grade Exemption: 8 yrs - 14yrs are granted 3 grade exemptions (max) per division. High School divisions granted unlimited exemptions.

 

* No grade exemptions for girls. You must play at the age you are as of July 1st.

 

Adult (18 & up)
Men’s A (Competitive), Men’s B (Recreational), Men’s 35+, Women’s (Competitive)

 

RULES:
• Officials provided by Don Logan.
• In age specified division only - age limits for rosters as per AAU Rules: Boys ages determined as of 9/01; Girls as of 07/01. High School Divisions based on ability level. Must be in High School to compete in these divisions. If 18 yrs . of age, must show proof that athlete is still in high school.
• If less than 3 teams sign up in any division, other arrangements will be made. Each team must provide either a time keeper or score keeper for each game of play. Birth certificates and AZ Basketball ID card will be utilized as positive identification of athletes age/grade for this competition.
• No player allowed to play on two teams in same division. Each team is guaranteed three games.
• Each team must supply their own jerseys with visible numbers on back.
