Dan Majerle 
Dan Majerle – Dan was originally selected with the 14th overall pick by the Suns in the 1988 NBA draft. Majerle quickly became a permanent fan favorite while playing eight seasons in Phoenix. A Phoenix Suns legend and Ring of Honor inductee, Dan is now an Assistant Coach for the Suns. He made his broadcast debut working for TNT during the 2003 NBA Playoffs and has also worked for ESPN and ABC.
What are The Grand Canyon State Games
The Grand Canyon State Games is a multi-sport Olympic Festival for Arizona’s amateur athletes of all ages and abilities. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is the honorary chairperson of the Grand Canyon State Games. The Games is a project of the Arizona Sports Council and is affiliated with 32 other states throughout the United States. The Grand Canyon State Games is designed to give all Arizonans the opportunity to take part in athletic competition with an Olympic-style atmosphere. 2013 will be the 21st year for the Games, to be held in Maricopa County and Flagstaff.
The Roy Clark Power Player Award
The Roy Clark Power Player Award is given to select individuals who demonstrate exceptional character and sportsmanship as a participant in the Grand Canyon State Games. Select individuals who display extraordinary character as defined by the Six Pillars of Character which are: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship will be identified by Games officials for consideration. The Power Player Award will be presented to recipients during the awards ceremonies.

Winners will be presented with Gold, Silver & Bronze medals for a 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finish respectively during each of the competitions.
How to enter the 2013 Lori Piestewa National Native American Games

2. Read all of the general information at our website.
3. Read the specific sport information for complete event information.
4. If you prefer you may download our Entry form. Then fill out the Registration Form for the Native American Games. For team sports, the coach or team captain fills out the form (including team roster) for the entire team. For individual sports, each person competing must fill out a separate form.
5. Sign the waiver. For team sports, each participant must sign. All participants under 18 must have their parent or guardian sign for them.
6. Payment. If paying entry fees by MasterCard, Visa, or Discover only, fax your form to 480-517-9739. You may also make payment by personal check or a cashier’s check made payable to “Grand Canyon State Games.” Please do not send cash.

Entering more then one sport
Due to the competitive format and the possibility of overlapping schedules, entering more than one sport is discouraged. If you enter more than one sport, you do so at your own risk. No refunds will be given & no schedule changes made to accommodate multi-sport entrants.
Who is eligible to Compete?
Each athlete must be at least 1/4 Native American to compete. CIB cards will serve as proof to participate.
Athlete check-in
The 2013 Lori Piestewa National Native American Games formally opens for competition with the athlete check-in on Wednesday July 10th from 4:00-7:00pm for BASKETBALL ONLY and all other athletes in the other six (6) sports check-in is on Thursday, July 11th from 4:00-7:00 pm at Radisson Fort McDowell Resort & Casino (10438 N. Fort McDowell Rd. Scottsdale, AZ).
ALL Participants are encouraged to check-in for the weekend’s events from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm to receive their game times, T-shirts, schedules, rules, etc. If you’re unable to attend the early check-in, information will be available on our website www.gcsg.org Check-in is also available at each venue 1 hour prior to the start of competition. All pre-registered athletes are encouraged to attend the early check-in.
Sportsmanship/Conduct
Unsportsmanlike conduct on the part of competitors or fans will not be condoned by the Grand Canyon State Games officials. Conduct of this nature may result in immediate removal and disqualification from competition.
Inclement Weather
Sports using outdoor facilities are weather dependent. Competitions will be conducted unless the commissioners, facilities managers or Grand Canyon State Games staff determine the weather conditions to be potentially dangerous, life threatening or if playing fields would incur significant damage. There will be no cash refunds for cancelled events due to weather.Refund Policy
No refund will be permitted in the event an entrant fails to compete. There will be no refunds of entry fees except for the following:- Entries received after the maximum number of individuals or teams are bracketed or if not enough teams or individuals enter a division.
2. Entries of non-qualified participants.
In 2013, the Grand Canyon State Games are planning for dramatic growth. As awareness and interest in the Games grow rapidly in its 21st year, volunteers are a critical part of the success of the State Games. The Grand Canyon State Games is a grassroots, family-oriented movement and we encourage participation by the whole family.
