2007 Commissioners of the Year

Jennifer Cada - Basketball

Our 2007 Co-Commissioner of the year has been with the Games for over 4 years and in that time has run a very successful series of Youth & Adult Basketball events.  Jen was a former Rookie Commissioner of the year and has increased her commitment to the State Games athletes every year since and always with a smile.  Jennifer currently is handling various portions of 4 basketball tournaments each year for the Games and has done an excellent job on the ever evolving sport of basketball.

Peggy Cianciola - Bowling

The State Games Bowling Championships is the only year-long qualifier formatted competition as part of our 50+ sports.  With qualifiers in March, April and 3 weekends in June and the Semi’s & Finals after that, the Bowling event has mushroomed to over 400 bowlers annually.  The event literally reaches ages 2yrs with bumper bowling to some of our oldest senior age groups bowling in lanes right next to each other.  Bowling just keeps getting bigger and better each year.

Will Howald – 4 v 4 Flag Football

Our other Co-Commissioner of the Year has also had a dramatic impact on the State Games by offering 3 flag football tournaments the past several years for youth & adult players.  Will also is one of the few Commissioners that provides all the necessary sports equipment, staffing, field set-up, Etc. to run the event – we only provide him with a grass field and thru his sports marketing company – Fast Action Sports - Will provides the rest.  His events are flawlessly executed and his team is well respected in the Sports business – traits we strive to attain as well!

Mike Carrington - Dodgeball

Mike Carrington is one of the most passionate people for his sport that we have ever worked with.  Mike is constantly promoting & marketing his rapidly growing sport to the world.  Dodgeball had one of the largest summer games increases in participation from 2006 to 2007 – from 4 teams to 28 teams and 220 athletes.  Mike orchestrated a merger with the National Dodgeball Association which allowed teams from around the country to participate.
