Alan Lambert - Basketball

The Grand Canyon State Games currently has 170 Sport Commissioners volunteering their time, energy and talents to our year round menu of competitive programs. Each year we select the “Best of the Best” from this group as our Commissioners of the Year. This year’s very deserving Commissioner of the Year winner is Mr. Alan Lambert from Basketball. Alan ran four successful Basketball competitions in 2009 and spent countless hour recruiting teams, calling coaches and e-mailing team managers. Alan spent years as a college basketball coach and administrator and we are honored to have Alan representing the Games in our Community. Congratulations to Alan as our 2009 Commissioner of the Year.

2009 Rookie Commissioner of the Year

Dianne Pratt Doerschel - Racquetball

Our 2009 Rookie Commissioner of the year is just as hard-working as Alan and comes from the sport of Racquetball. Dianne Pratt Doerschel inherited the competition from the capable hands of a past Commissioner of the year and increased attendance and has elevated our tournament to new levels. New to Arizona Diane has quickly gained the respect of the area Racquetball players. Dianne works tirelessly on our behalf and attendance in our tournaments shows how hard she works. Congratulations to Diane as our 2009 Rookie Commissioner of the Year.
