2009 Athlete of the Year

The process to select an Athlete of the Year includes literally thousands of deserving athletes selected from the Winter Games, International Sumer Games and the Lori Piestewa National Native American Games. The selection takes into consideration athletes on a Worldwide basis! Rebecca Durazo from Flagstaff is an athlete from Baton Twirling whose accomplishments stood out from those thousands of competitive athletes. Rebecca, now 18 yrs old, has competed in the Grand Canyon State Games since she was 7 years old and has amassed over 100 medals during that time. As an excellent student, leader and role modal for youth athletes she is the epitome of the Student athlete that leads by her example & actions. Congratulations to Rebecca Durazo
